Ashe County Public Schools has launched a new employment application system.  The new "North Carolina School Jobs" online application system, powered by PeopleAdmin, ​provides an innovative way to streamline the hiring process.  Applicants will experience an enhanced, user friendly system when applying for positions. Guide for Applying to Positions in NC School Jobs

The Human Resources Department will be available on Thursday afternoons from 2pm -4pm to assist applicants who want to apply for a position with Ashe County Schools but do not have internet access. Please call the HR Department at 336.246.7175 to schedule an appointment.
 
An email address is necessary, if you do not have one HR Dept. will assist you in setting up an account.

Other documents or information you will want to bring with you:
  • Copy of educational documents, ie high school diploma, or high school transcripts, or college transcripts, etc.  (Unofficial are acceptable)
  • List of references with phone numbers and email addresses, if applicable.
  • List of work experience with company name and dates of employment

When a position becomes available, it is posted to the Ashe County School website under Employment (located to the left categorized by Positions Available) and sent to the Ashe County Employment Commission. Vacancy announcements generally include a short description of the position, the location of the position, minimum qualifications (such as licensure requirements), general duties, and a closing date.

How do I apply for a certified position with Ashe County Schools?

Complete an application. In order to be considered for employment in the Ashe County Schools system, each applicant must have a current application on file.  Please upload all requested documents requested to ensure your application is complete.
 
Certified positions include teaching or school administrative positions, including:
  • Teacher, Media Coordinator, Guidance Counselor, Social Worker, School Nurse
  • Principal, Assistant Principal
  • Director, Supervisor, Coordinator
  • Superintendent, Assistant or Associate Superintendent
When these positions become available in our school system a posting will be advertised on the Positions Available  Employment Page.

How do I apply for a classified position with Ashe County Schools?

Complete an application. In order to be considered for employment in the Ashe County Schools system, each applicant must have a current application on file.  Please upload all requested documents requested to ensure your application is complete.
 
Classified positions include non-certified, non-teaching positions such as:
  • Teacher Assistant, Tutor
  • Clerical – School Secretary, Payroll, Receptionist, etc.
  • Cafeteria Assistant
  • Custodial
  • Maintenance – Director, Carpenter, Plumber, Roofer, etc.
  • Technology Specialist – Programmer, SIMS/NCWISE Coordinator, Technician
  • Transportation – Mechanic, etc.

How do I apply for a bus driver position with Ashe County Schools?

Complete an application. In order to be considered for employment in the Ashe County Schools system, each applicant must have a current application on file.  Please upload all requested documents requested to ensure your application is complete.

Persons employed outside the Ashe County Schools  should submit an online application thru SchoolJobs powered by PeopleAdmin.
